Audio-Technica Unveils
Landmark Ultra Wideband Wireless Technology at InfoComm Press Event
July 11, 2007
Audio-Technica
U.S., Inc. unveiled its SpectraPulseTM Ultra Wideband Wireless Microphone System at a press event at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel's
Pulse Lounge on June 18, 2007, the evening before InfoComm 07. InfoComm is the largest annual conference and exhibition of
its kind, attended by over 31,000 audiovisual buyers and sellers; this year's conference was held June 19-21 in Anaheim.
The SpectraPulse press event was attended by over 150 guests including members of the press, Multispectral Solutions,
Inc.® (MSSI®) representatives and leading acoustical consultants & system integrators. Audio-Technica Marketing
Manager Steve Savanyu presented a multimedia overview outlining the current and future state of wireless microphone transmission
as it pertains to the federally mandated February 2009 transition to digital TV and possible white space** issues currently
before Congress. Savanyu discussed how Audio-Technica was addressing these issues and unveiled A-T's solution -- the SpectraPulse
Ultra Wideband Microphone System, a revolutionary approach to wireless microphone transmission which employs a new application
of proven, patented Ultra Wideband technology.
As part of a dedicated R&D initiative that began nearly 5 years
ago, Audio-Technica partnered with Multispectral Solutions, Inc. (MSSI), the industry leader in the development of Ultra Wideband
systems for communications, radar and geo-positioning, to introduce this new application of UWB technology. The result is
A-T's SpectraPulse, the first commercial sound implementation of UWB technology. Recently licensed for commercial use
by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Ultra Wideband technology allows the wireless transmission of data in
extremely short-duration pulses over a wide spectrum of frequencies.
SpectraPulse bypasses the increasingly congested
RF environment to deliver clear, intelligible audio without the performance and set-up issues associated with conventional
wireless systems. It offers levels of security that have never before been commercially available in wireless microphones,
making it ideal for conference or boardrooms, corporate events/meetings, courtrooms and other contractor/system integrator
applications in the business, government and commercial markets. SpectraPulse provides up to 14 simultaneous channels that
operate flawlessly without RF competition, frequency hunting/coordination, white space** issues or infringement from other
wireless systems or radio sources.
