The User-Oriented Pedestrian Navigation Service (utopian) is a location based
service (LBS) for recreation facilities and gastronomy offers combined with a navigation service for pedestrians.
ICiNG Location Client
The ICiNG (Innovative
Cities for Next Generation) project is researching a multi-modal,
multi-access model of e-Government. It develops the concept of a “thin-skinned City” that will be sensitive to
both the citizen and the environment through the use of mobile devices, universal access gateways, social software and environmental
sensors.
SWAN System to Help Blind and Firefighters Navigate Environment
The System for Wearable Audio Navigation (SWAN) is designed to help the visually impaired, firefighters, soldiers
and others navigate their way in unknown territory, particularly when vision is obstructed or impaired.
HawkTour: A Mobile, Context-Aware Tour Guide System
HawkTour, installed on a TabletPC, allows visitors to tour the
IIT main campus and learn about the university including its world-renowned architecture, excellent academic programs,
and student life. The application provides the user with location-sensitive information about their surroundings
in various forms such as pictures, text, and audio.
